The new Marsh Lake Community Centre opened on Canada Day, July 1 2006. It was a moment. After several years of planning, designing, meeting and debating we now at long last have a centre for our community. And there are many here in Marsh Lake who have been working on this for decades.

Now the work begins to make the centre active, vibrant and warm. First jobs are outfitting our new building, figuring out how it will function, programming for the fall and working on communication (like the web!)

The building is amazing. It has a few technical glitches, but in general it's got huge potential. I encourage you to come out and be a part of it.

  O what a grand opening!
Singing O Canada to kick off the ceremonies.
