The plan facility is too large to be sustainable. We have numerous facilities throughout the Yukon too large to be maintained and as a result become a burden. We need a meeting space not a rec centre. The second floor, floor plan is more than enough to meet our needs. 

I suggest strongly that we reduce our expectations and create a modest, pleasant community gathering place.  I’d guess that within a few years we will not be able to sustain the present structure.  Let’s be realistic, a one floor multi purposes flex hall is really all we need.  Make it tasteful, attractive and fit into the environment, not a large institutional structure presently planned.  

I suggest we consider a staging area for ski events, for possibly for lessons in youth ski programs, a flat area approximately 75 m. by 50m. in size close to the building.  Furthermore, facilities for skiers to wax and enter the facility easily would probably be more utilized than a gym or fitness facility.

Architecturally over blown

• Design is too hip = big $$
• Engineering cost for fancy roof lines etc. $$
• Looks like a mini Mount Mac

Two story box would be enough

• Gym/fitness – multi purpose room
• Library/play group area
• Lounge/ leisure room
• Large kitchen

Fitness room should be included now – people will use it – people of all ages are now more focused on fitness and fitness training

A squash facility would also be excellent.

Don’t worry about the aesthetics of:

·        bay window areas

·        multiple roofs

·        etc

Use one block style building with facades for looks

Add ons can be simple and basic- costs

Add a thrift store

Parking lot is a concern. Not really changes but look closer at the issue.  I do support wholly the community centre but the noise issue is a concern.  Will the wild life on the lake be disturbed?  Has this issue been addressed?

Wheel chair / elderly access – stairs may be a problem.  What affect will this have on property taxes?

Concerned about parking i.e. events etc?  Also the lake itself is more of a sanctuary for wildlife

Good plans.  I would like to see a larger library / resource area.  It would be good to have a community centre for access to research and current global information…..education, as well as adhering to small business folk.  Also perhaps a public green house, skills development …. Music production

It is too big unless run by a private business or with significant $$ for O&M from the government.   Wants a restaurant or coffee house// bakery

Indoor target range

Basement to house fitness room, storage, mechanical and meeting room.  Lounge should be left to private enterprise.
